New Tulchin Research Poll Shows Californians Oppose Brown’s Plan to Cut First 5
February 11th, 2011 · Blog, Company News, Issues, News, Poll release
As covered in the Mercury News/Contra Costa Times/Inside Bay Area:
Gov. Jerry Brown’s proposal to raid $1 billion this year and $300 million every year thereafter from First 5, the state’s early childhood program, appears to be running into some serious opposition.
A poll showing that 62 percent of voters oppose the move is a first step in what could be a costly and damaging battle for Brown, who is seeking to place a measure on the ballot to extend income, sales and auto taxes as part of his budget plan to close a $25.4 billion deficit.

Congratulations, Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom!
January 18th, 2011 · Blog, Company News, News
We attended his swearing in as California’s 49th Lieutenant Governor and it was a great event. The political elite from both San Francisco and Sacramento were there in force. It helps when you delay your swearing in so that it is the only thing happening in town and don’t have to compete with other events! Newsom was at his best – delivering an uplifting speech about the promise of California. Good stuff! This is the kind of event that makes us appreciate what we do – that getting clients elected actually matters as they go on to hold elected office and can make a difference.
